Beautiful Historic Homes in Ocala, FL

Our Broker, Melissa Townsend, specializes in helping customers buy and sell historic homes and unique properties. Her comfort level in developing a strategic approach to renovation projects and in working with artisans and tradesmen stems from childhood years. Melissa’s father was a general contractor who probably should have had two sons, instead of two daughters. As the eldest daughter, Melissa spent many weekends, school holidays, and summer months on job sites helping with everything from surveying a future home's elevations to hanging kitchen cabinets. She admired her father's attention to detail and eye for good design. As an adult she has done her best to emulate this, particularly while tackling four historic home renovations of her own and most recently updating a mid-century ranch.

Melissa loves helping sellers best position their historic homes for sale and assisting buyers as they plan to purchase and update an older home to meet modern day needs. Melissa’s customers benefit from her knowledge and having access to an extensive list of specialized, local tradespeople who understand and appreciate working on these beautiful homes.
